When your garage door motor is beyond economical repair, we replace it with a quality new opener fitted to your existing door. We install belt drive and chain drive openers for sectional doors, and drum motors for roller doors, plus smart phone-controlled upgrades so you can open and check your door from anywhere.
Common symptoms you'll see or hear
- ✔ Motor is over 10–15 years old and parts are no longer available
- ✔ Control board has failed after a power surge
- ✔ Opener is loud enough to wake the house
- ✔ Door needs to be lifted manually every day
- ✔ You want app control, auto-close or battery backup
- ✔ Remotes for your old model are discontinued
Why this failure happens
Openers wear out like any appliance. Gear trains, boards and motors in older units eventually fail, and spare parts for discontinued models become scarce or costly. Newer openers are quieter, more energy efficient and include better safety features such as soft start/stop and auto-reverse.
Important: a new motor will not fix a door that is out of balance. We always check springs and hardware first so your new opener isn't overloaded from day one.
How our technician repairs it on-site
We assess your door type, weight and headroom, recommend the right motor (belt, chain or roller door drum) and give you a clear upfront price to approve. Installation includes removing the old unit, mounting the new motor, setting limits and force, aligning safety beams and programming remotes and keypads.
We fit motors to existing doors only. We don't sell complete new garage doors, so our recommendations are focused on getting your current door working its best.
Frequently asked questions
Which garage door motor is best?
It depends on your door type and weight. We fit reputable brands such as Merlin, B&D, ATA, Gliderol and Steel-Line and will recommend the right one for your door.
Can you add smart phone control?
Yes. Many current openers support Wi-Fi app control, or we can add a smart module to compatible existing motors.
How long does installation take?
Most motor replacements are completed within two to three hours.
